Aghalla was the first work that allowed sculptor Fabio Viale to express his poetics and gain worldwide recognition. It is a marble boat capable of floating and sailing.
Fabio wanted to find a suitable place to permanently host his work. He found it in an old quarry: the boat needed a home, and that home was the lake in the abandoned quarry.
Laura Veschi followed Fabio Viale in the poetic process that led him to prepare the quarry to place his sculptural boat on the placid waters of the natural pool he created for it. The story later found its ideal form of expression in the book.
