Aghalla was the first work that allowed sculptor Fabio Viale to express his poetics and gain worldwide recognition. It is a boat sculpted from marble, capable of floating and navigating.
Fabio wanted to find a suitable location to permanently house his work. He found it in an old quarry: the boat needed a home, and that home was the lake in the abandoned quarry.
Laura Veschi followed Fabio Viale on the poetic journey that led him to prepare the quarry to place his boat sculpture in the calm waters of the natural pool he created for her.
The story then found its ideal form of expression in the book.
